As the saying goes, “never air your dirty laundry in public” but it never says, never air it in a room full of steam.
The last thing you want to do on your vacation will be - laundry
During my recent travel to Macau, I did not bring enough clothing with me. Actually, that is not entirely true, I did have enough clothes but because I spend most of the time in the casino, all my clothes got smelly really quickly. It also happened that all the casinos and malls in Asia love having their air conditioning up at full blast during the summer months. I was desperate. I hate stinky and smoky clothing. Then, I remember a tip I picked up from somewhere and it works really well by getting rid of all the smells that manage to cling onto my clothes.
Before you head into the shower, place your dirty laundry on hangers and hang them in the bathroom. Take a warm or hot shower and close the door to the bathroom. This ensures that all the steam is captured within the confined space. After you are done with your shower, just leave the clothing inside the steamed up room. Voila! You will be surprised to see the results the next day. My clothes smelled brand new and felt clean! The last thing that you want to do on vacation will be laundry! The thought of having to pay inflated prices for hotel laundry services just did not sit well with me either.
From this experience, I saved myself at least A$60 in laundry cost. A$60 does go very very far in Asia!
