For the love of books

I love reading. Unfortunately, books can be quite a luxury in Australia where the average fiction book at Borders cost at least $25 and over. Well, after spending enormous amounts of time bumming and doing “research” on the internet, I’ve come across two really cool sites that ship to Australia. No. They are not Amazon.

#1 Book Depository

Ordered from them. They are really good with free international delivery. Overall, it’s a pretty good website with really good prices. Normally takes about 2 weeks for books to arrive in Australia. However, if you do order from them during Christmas, please make sure you give yourself at least a 2 month’s time frame. Our Christmas order was late last year.

#2 BetterWorldBooks.com

Better World charges a flat delivery of US$3.97 per book. They also run a very cool literacy program where they find old books that libraries discard and either sell them to raise funds or give those books to the partners in their program. Prices here are pretty competitive too. Pick yourself a bargain and at the same time help world literacy.
